Education and intelligence: A thin line

There are many pair of words which almost mean the same but there is a thin line of difference and one such pair is education and intelligence. These like many other pairs mean the same but are different.

Education is acquiring or imparting knowledge to people whereas intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Unfortunately people are judging ones intelligence on the basis of education. According to them the people who are highly educated and academically bright are smart as a fox whereas the ones who are uneducated and academically weak are as dumb as a donkey. This misconception is unacceptable and needs to be changed for the better.

Anybody can acquire education rich or poor but only a few have the ability to apply the knowledge and skills in real life situations and intelligence can be acquired even without education. Intelligence gives you the ability to think out of the box, analyse and solve problems coming your way and you can even apply your knowledge in relevant situations.

Hence intelligence helps you in a lot of ways but it does not mean that education is unimportant. It's really helpful if you have both but to conquer the world intelligence can take you a long way and never confuse education with intelligence as you can have a bachelor's degree and still be an idiot.
